The hostelry technical high school Daniel Brottier is one of the 200 establishments of the Fondation d’Auteuil. This Foundation has been created in 1866 and is recognized as public service organization since 1929. Its mission is to receive, educate, train and integrate over 10 000 young people confronting major difficulties at home and in the society. The young people are entrusted by their family, social services or juvenile court judges. The social or family difficulties they have to face have consequences in their life : academic failure, emotional deprivation, behaviour issues… The Fondation d’Auteuil tries to help them become standing men.
Thus, we have heterogenous levels in a same class and must develop creative pedagogical methods. These young people are pupils at risk of social exclusion.
European projects can help them to be better integrate into the society, to learn to adapt themselves to any other situations. It is a very good ‘springboard’ to be motivated in their studies and to gain confidence into themselves.
