The different schools need to improve pedagogical methods to prevent the dropping out of the students and as well to foster their integration into the labour market and find their place into the society. Indeed, when teaching, we can face multiple difficulties of the students:
• Parents weakened in their journey of life (divorce, job loss, abuse…)
• High failure of educational and societal markers, related to living conditions (financial insecurity, indebtedness, unemployment ..)
• educational and emotional serious deficiencies.
• Intra Family Violence, physical or psychological.
• Sexual Abuse
Most of the time, teachers don’t know about these difficulties. The psychologist of Daniel Brottier catering college, helped us to list the problems of the students we can welcome, described above.
Nowadays, we didn’t succeed in finding solution to make these students learn or stay motivated by their studies. Teachers feel a need to exchange with others partners to question their methods and improve them.
Through this kind of project, we want to make the teachers change in their day-to-day work. The project will provide a space to get new learning methods to help young people to reconcile them with school and with the education system. They might be able to succeed in learning.
The psychologists of the different partners will be involved in this project to help the teachers to have a better understanding of the students and their special needs.
Through this project, we also want to test a method. We are convinced that if the students have a better knowledge of themselves in terms of their past and their origins, they will get self-esteem and will be stronger to face nowadays life. We wonder if this process will have consequences on their special needs in learning. Through this European project, we will answer to this question.
Through the different activities offered to the students, we would like to help the students in:
– developing competences, such as professional and social skills, English language or their capacity of adaptation
– fostering their mobility
– opening their mind and so opening them to other possibilities to succeed in their life.
This project will also help the students to know better the European construction and the history of Europe. They might realize that they are European citizens.
The different partners are conscious that European projects are necessary to the sustainability of the school. They need to belong to an European school network in order to develop European projects and to offer European learning path for the students. This project is a way of enriching and keeping alive this network.
The alliance signed by Apprentis d’Auteuil and Luovi, at national level, is a strong demonstration of this collaboration.
